That Special Place

Photo Location: Oregon Coast

Magic from the Coast of Oregon. I've been to this place many times, but could never get good looking clouds in the sky. Even though the weather app promised otherwise. This time it was different. The weather app promised clouds and possible light rain throughout the weekend. So I decided to get into my car and start driving. It takes me 12 hours to get to this location from where I live. I left at around 1pm on friday, drove till 4 in the morning and made it to Brookings Oregon. Took a 2 hour nap in the car and went to this place at 6 in the morning to capture some photos. Mind you this was the only place on the whole west coast that had clouds. I checked as far as White Sands Dunes in New Mexico or shall we call it New America. At first I was sceptical and thought the app was not accurate. But couldn't not go...

And... this time the sky didn't disappoint. The clouds were perfect and there was a little color in them brief moment from the sun rising over the mountains from the east. I had a vision of this image for few years, I kept driving here for 12+ hours on multiple occasions, but everytime without luck. Not that I don't get photos elsewhere. Except when you really want some photo at some place, I will go back over and over until I get it and my vision can be fulfilled. Then on to the next.

So this time this quest is finally over. I was able to get it almost the way I always wanted(its always "almost" its never good enough all the way).

Landscape photography is not a simple feat. It takes patience, persistence and lots of time driving, to the point where I could really use an autopilot... If there was a full overcast that morning, I wouldn't have gotten this image the way it should be and would have had to drive back empty handed and try again. As photographer I am dependent on the elements of nature when shooting coastal and landscape scenery, but that is something I can not control. And lots of time its God, luck and divine interventions that make it happen! I just know I have to stick with it! Enjoy this TruMasterpiece. One of a kind print only!
