The Other

"The Other" 

The name for this art piece was inspired by Paulo Coehlo who talked about the shadow part of our being that often makes us do things in order to be accepted by society. Like chasing money, fame, and possessions, making us believe that having those things will make us happier. The Other always distracts you from stopping and looking in the mirror. Where you stop chasing things on the outside, take a deeper look within, and start learning about who you really are.

I noticed this couple of blackberry leaves on one of the hiking trips in Northern California (where blackberries are plentiful). For some reason, they reminded me of Paulo's book. Those are the kind of connections that appear in the head of an artist!
