Photo Location: Carpenteria, CA
This Coastal Oak (Quercus virginiana) is one of the strangest trees I've ever photographed. Located near Carpenteria, California, it just happen to be growing in what appears to be the sand dunes by the beach. To this day I'm not quire sure to be honest if its one tree with two separate trunks or two trees growing close to each other. All I know it doesn't look like a normal tree, it grows all by itself in the middle of a pile of sand surrounded by sea fig and decrepit wooden fence. It has a very unique photogenic side to it, making it an ideal subject for tree photography.
The almost neutral colors in this photo make it for a perfect artwork that fits into a home with beach style interior or any of the modern/contemporary feel. Shot on a cloudy day, it offers a sense of coastal coolness to the simple beach scene. It is great as a accent piece for all types of minimalistic home environments as well as main subject piece for beach town office space. Prints of this artwork are available as acrylic mounted or as metal prints. Free U.S. Shipping. Limited Edition of 100.
